Do you work in an Early Years setting? Would you be interested in becoming a highly trained Early Years professional, making an effective contribution leading to outstanding outcomes for young children?
Soon we will be delivering the long awaited and much anticipated Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Programme.
This top quality programme, supported by City of York Council, is designed to develop Early Years specialists and equip them to play a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop and are kept healthy and safe.
Settings include full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes and potentially childminders.
The Apprenticeship Standards associated with this programme have been shaped and developed over several years, The result, according to the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, is: “a rigorous and high-quality standard ready to serve the early years sector which will help to revolutionise early years education for employers, young children and workers alike.”
With additional experience and on completion of the programme, an Early Years Educator could become the manager of an early years setting.
Our Apprenticeship Programme will take a minimum of 18 months to complete and consist of 16 face-to-face training days.
All workshops/training events will be delivered by leading Early Years experts – high calibre people who will help you reach your potential. In addition you will complete both on the job and off the job learning.
Off the job learning will include shadowing, observing, researching, carrying out assignments, assessments and directed learning activities; all designed to be completed within your contracted hours of work. It will be necessary for you to be released and supported in off the job learning for 20% of your contracted hours.
The programme will enable you to meet all of the Apprenticeship Standards through a comprehensive programme of learning designed to develop and enhance your knowledge, skills and behaviours. You will receive support from both a personal tutor and mentor.
The venue for training will be Ebor Business and Training Centre, The Leyes, Osbaldwick, York YO10 3PR.
Apprentices successfully completing the programme receive a nationally recognised Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification as well as the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) all of which will be facilitated through the programme.
Apprentices wishing to join without level 2 English and Maths will be supported and need to achieve this requirement prior to taking their end point assessment.
For employing organisation who are apprenticeship levy payers, this training is usually at no cost to schools or the apprentices on the programme.
