Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship

Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Programme

This online Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification is designed to equip Early Years specialists to play a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop and are kept healthy and safe in day nurseries, children’s centres, pre-school playgroups and reception classes at schools.

What will I be able to do on completion of this programme?

You will be able to plan and supervise child initiated and adult led activities based around the needs and interest of the child.

You will support children to develop excellent early numeracy and language skills and have key person responsibility, so each child feels safe.

On completion of the programme and with additional experience you could become the manager of an early years setting.

What will I be required to do?

The apprenticeship is completely online – you are not required to attend any lessons in person.

However you are required to be ‘off the job’ one afternoon per week for online live and recorded training sessions and to complete directed learning activities.

It is a requirement of apprenticeships that 20% of time on programme is focussed on opportunities for training and development (known as off the job training) and we will work with your setting to develop a training plan to support this.

The programme will enable you to meet the Apprenticeship Standards through a comprehensive programme of learning.

You will receive ongoing, online support throughout the duration of the programme – we’re with you every step of the way.

How long will it take to complete?

The apprenticeship will take a minimum of 18 months to complete.

Entry requirements

Apprentices will be required to hold 4 GCSEs (graded A* to C or 9 to 4) which should include English and Maths.

The programme would benefit those who are new to the role, have three or fewer years’ experience, or who are looking for an opportunity to upskill and secure knowledge, skills and behaviours linked to this role, not previously taught.

Qualifications you will achieve

Apprentices successfully completing the programme receive a nationally recognised Level 3 Early Years Educator Diploma as well as the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) all of which will be facilitated through the programme.
