Level 4 School Business Professional Apprenticeship

Level 4 School Business Professional Apprenticeship Programme

Embark on a transformative journey with Ebor Academy Trust’s Level 4 School Business Professional Apprenticeship Programme. Whether you’re new to the role or an existing professional, this programme is crafted to elevate your skills, enhance your impact on overall school effectiveness and provide a pathway to professional recognition and qualification.

Investing in School Business Professional (SBP) training is a vital aspect of achieving excellent management in your school.

School Business Professionals perform a unique role, administering and managing the financial, site and support services within the school context.

They regularly provide essential support to school leadership teams, implementing their financial and business decisions. However, typically they receive little or no training to carry out their role.

SBPs may work in primary, secondary and special schools including local authority maintained schools, single academy trusts, multi-academy trusts and federations.

SBPs interact with all school stakeholders regularly to advise on and manage school business practices effectively. This requires them to understand educational issues as well as business management. They will adhere to the principles of making the best use of school resources to enable all students to achieve their potential and to meet the aim of increasing social mobility for children and young people. They must have a good understanding of educational policies and be able to implement change.

What are the requirements?

The apprenticeship is completely online – apprentices are not required to attend any sessions in person.

It is a requirement of all apprenticeships that 20% of time on programme is focussed on opportunities to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours (known as off the job training). We require all apprentices to be ‘off the job’ one afternoon per week to focus on professional development, attend live workshops and complete directed learning activities. Individually tailored training and development plans set out how we meet the full requirement. We will work with you to create a plan that works for apprentices, settings and employers.

You will receive ongoing, online support throughout the duration of the programme – we’re with you every step of the way.

How long will it take to complete?

The apprenticeship will take approximately 18 months to complete (plus three months for End Point Assessment).

Entry requirements Apprentices will be required to hold at least 4 GCSEs (graded A* to C or 9 to 4) which should include English and Maths. You must also work in the industry for a minimum of 25 contracted hours per week.

Will my pay change?

If you’re currently employed as a School Business Professional there will be no change to your terms and conditions of employment as a result of taking part in this training.
