Flexible Working

At times in our careers, we need to balance our work with other commitments in our lives. Ebor Academy Trust takes a positive approach to flexible working and will support staff whenever it can so that they can achieve the ideal work/life balance.

If you are thinking about applying for flexible working, you should start by talking to your line manager about what could work best for you and your workplace. This will help you fill in the request form and you and your manager will already know your ideal outcome.

Example flexible working patterns:

  • Part-time hours
  • Condensed or compressed hours
  • Job share
  • Term time working
  • Remote working
  • Hybrid working
  • Request for predicatable working times

Not all the above will be possible for every job in every work location, which is why talking to your manager first is so important.

If your flexible working request is approved, you will agree a date when your new work arrangements start. This is a change in your job contract and is permanent.
