CELEBRATIONS are underway after Hob Moor has now been recognised with an Asthma Friendly Schools Award.
This award is achieved by ensuring that all staff, from teachers to lunchtime supervisors, are trained to recognise the early warning signs of Asthma and to act decisively during an emergency.
SENco, Mrs Connolly said:
“This proactive environment significantly reduces asthma-related absences, allows children to participate fully in PE and playground activities without fear, and ultimately gives parents peace of mind knowing that their child’s health is supported by a knowledgeable, prepared community. “
“Special thanks must be given to SEN assistant Nikki Mills who leads this project, alongside asthma nurse, Alex Oliver. They have both worked closely with the staff and children, through the Autumn term, to make their asthma systems as safe as possible, ensuring all children have an up to date asthma plan.”
