A new and very exciting opportunity is now being offered through Coventry University (our partner provider of choice) to deliver a L6 Teacher Degree Apprenticeship.
In addition to the existing L6/7 Post Graduate Teacher Apprenticeship (available to support staff with an existing Degree) there is now the opportunity to complete a Degree (with QTS) and become a teacher.
This fully funded Degree Apprenticeship is a 38-month full-time apprenticeship that will enable non-graduate support staff to achieve a degree level qualification in Primary Education, equivalent to a BA degree, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with no tuition fees, and the opportunity to earn while they learn.
Further information can be found by downloading the ‘Information for Schools’ Document here.
If you are an Ebor employer keen to develop your employees through this apprenticeship you must submit a Request to Train a Teacher/Access Apprenticeship Levy Funding to the Trust before an application can be made to the University.
Why?
Although Apprenticeships are fully funded through the Trusts Levy funds, Teacher Apprenticeships require significant amounts of this funding to be drawn down and with there being a limit on the levy funding the Trust has access to, we are limited as to how many we can support through these programmes.
The Teacher Degree Apprenticeship requires £27000 of Levy funding.
Therefore it is of paramount importance that we invest in the right people, at the right time, in the right schools and that conversations take place to determine this and if necessary to make decisions as to where and to who funding should be prioritised/authorised.
In addition anyone who is supported to complete a Teacher Apprenticeship will be required to commit to working for the Trust for two years upon qualification.
