Lord Mayor of York plans to visit every school in the city – starting with Hob Moor

Councillor Martin Rowley BEM, the current Lord Mayor, recently visited Hob Moor Community Primary Academy in Acomb as part of his new outreach plan.

During his visit, he spoke with pupils and joined them for a whole school assembly.
In a letter to headteacher Tim Jolly, Cllr Rowley said: “You should be rightly proud of what you are achieving, and it was clear that you are well respected, and a much-admired head with vision, and a desire to be the very best.

“The Q and A session was such fun… I was encouraged to see just how engaged every child was during my time with them.

“I have a plan to visit all the schools in the city over the next 12 months and I will remember with great fondness my visit with you at Hob Moor Primary Academy.”
