Nothing beats a Year 5 trip to the airport!

Alderman Cogan’s Year 5 classes were involved in a trip of a lifetime when they attended a trip to Humberside Airport last week.
There were lots of activities and they discovered many different roles within working at the airport. The pupils had to choose which flights they wanted to book, exchange currency from pounds to euros, book a pre-flight meal, go shopping and check luggage in!
Kate Hill from Run with It, who facilitated the trip, said,
“The Year 5 children were a true credit to the school. It was wonderful to see their faces light up at the airport and watch them confidently apply their knowledge. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with pupils from Alderman Cogan’s ” – Kate Hill
Headteacher, Mr Tucker said,
“Trips like these are what makes our school unique. I want to say thanks to ‘Run With It’ for putting on a great trip for our pupils. Although I really want to go on holiday now!”
Views from the children:
“Being able to do English and Maths on a trip made it fun and real.”
“It was good to pretend that we were going on an aeroplane. We even got to see planes take off.”
‘Run with It’ provides trips and experiences that apply learning from the classroom into Year 5 contexts.
