Camblesforth are the latest Ebor academy to offer ‘Tiny Steps’ – childcare from 2 years old

Camblesforth Community Primary Academy will be providing much needed nursery care for two year olds from Easter 2025.

Families in and around Camblesforth, Selby, will be able to gain early access to the provision that the government is rolling out across the country in September. This will mean that eligible children can join the school after their second birthday and receive 30 hours of fully funded childcare.

Priority will be given to families accessing benefits and working parents, however, if there is space, paid places will be offered to all.

This school is going from strength to strength, having recently been hugely upgraded by Ofsted to a ‘good’ school (with ‘outstanding’ for its early years’ provision).

Headteacher Dave Card said,

“This will be a huge benefit to the local community who would struggle to find childcare for preschoolers locally.

We have put a lot of time into placing specialist Early Years’ staff and organising new age-appropriate facilities and equipment and are really proud that we have reached the standard to qualify for the additional funding, because we know how much it will help local families.

Our ‘Tiny Steps Academy’ is a stimulating, creative and fun space, where your child will form relationships, learn through play, and establish routines, in an environment where they feel safe and valued.”
